Do you make your own playdough?
At Childhaven Nursery School in Scarborough we model how to build and sustain positive relationships in a range of ways. An example of this is our daily ritual of making playdough.
Playdough making involves children exploring and creating, while working together. They can freely create their own dough together, choosing the ingredients and quantities they would like. As practitioners, we support the children to work together towards the end goal.
By giving children these opportunities, we are supportIng collaborative play. They seek out others to join in and support the activity, often welcoming this support from peers when their dough isn’t going how they had planned!
