About the Hub

The Thames Valley and South Central Early Years Stronger Practice Hub supports early years classes and settings across the region by sharing evidence-informed practice and building strong local networks of support.

We work with early years practitioners, Nursery and Reception teachers, childminders and leaders to strengthen everyday practice and improve outcomes for children and families. Our focus is on supporting children’s communication, emotional development and social interaction, and on helping adults feel confident, skilled and well supported in their roles.

What we offer

  • High-quality, evidence-informed CPD including resources, webinars, events and fully funded programmes that build staff knowledge and confidence.
  • Bespoke advice, guidance and support for settings, practitioners and childminders, tailored to individual needs and priorities.
  • Engaging professional networks that connect early years professionals, share best practice and foster mutual support across the sector.

Our support is delivered through a range of flexible formats, ensuring practitioners and leaders can engage in ways that work for them.

Our approach

Our work is grounded in evidence-informed practice, drawing on a range of trusted research and sector expertise. This underpins all activity across the Hub and supports settings to make informed decisions that strengthen practice and improve outcomes for children and families.

Partnership working

The Hub is led and delivered by a group of highly experienced early years partners who work collaboratively to share expertise and respond to local need. We work closely with the EEF, NCB, partner settings and local authorities to ensure our support is relevant, practical, evidence-based and impactful.

We also place a strong emphasis on leadership in early education, supporting leaders to:

  • Lead and manage change effectively
  • Embed evidence-informed approaches
  • Measure impact in meaningful and proportionate ways
