About the Hub

Local Authorities covered:

Leicester, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, North Northamptonshire, Rutland, West Northamptonshire

Overview:

The East Midlands Stronger Practice Hub is one of 18 Stronger Practice Hubs appointed by the Department for Education (DfE). Our vision is to support practitioners, teachers and childminders to improve outcomes for children in our local area across the EYFS, but specifically focusing on areas of development that research informs us have been most impacted by COVID-19.

We will do this by:

  • Building trusted networks of settings to share knowledge and effective practice.
  • Proactively sharing information and advice on evidence-based approaches, for example through newsletters, blogs, events and social media.
  • Acting as a point of contact for bespoke advice and signpost to other funded support.
  • Working with the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) to select evidence-based programmes to fund and make available to settings and childminders and the early years evidence store.

We will work closely with our partners and Local Authorities to provide high quality professional development and networking opportunities led by Early Years specialists, that is based upon local intelligence and is responsive to the needs of the individual communities.

We will proactively share best practice demonstrating evidenced informed practice which will support practitioners to make a difference to the lives of  young, vulnerable and disadvantaged children.
