Maths is Everywhere

This webinar explores how early years practitioners can support children’s mathematical development through the everyday interactions, routines and experiences that already happen across the day.

Through a series of practical examples, interactive activities and reflective discussion, we’ll explore how practitioners can:

  • Recognise the maths already happening in everyday routines and play
  • Use mathematical language and conversation to develop children’s thinking
  • Make the most of spontaneous and unexpected opportunities for learning
  • Build maths naturally into interactions throughout the day

Practitioners will leave with realistic strategies that can be applied immediately in their settings, helping them recognise the maths that is already happening and make more of everyday opportunities to develop children’s mathematical thinking.

The webinar will be led by Alison Byers, Sheffield and Beyond Early Years Stronger Practice Hub Lead.
