About the hub

Sheffield and Beyond Early Years Stronger Practice Hub supports early years practitioners across Sheffield, Barnsley and Rotherham by providing access to evidence-informed practice, professional development and opportunities for collaboration.

Led by Nether Edge Primary School, we believe that every child's journey is different. We are passionate about celebrating diversity and ensuring that all children, regardless of their starting point, have access to the highest quality early education. By strengthening practice across our region, we aim to improve outcomes for young children and help create the best possible foundations for lifelong learning.

Working alongside our partner settings, we connect research with practice, creating opportunities for practitioners to learn from one another, reflect on their work and develop approaches that recognise the story of each child.

Our work is grounded in the values of kindness, integrity and diligence, and in the belief that strong relationships, high expectations and inclusive practice can transform life chances and reduce disadvantage.

We achieve this by:

  • Promoting evidence-informed approaches through regular communications, including newsletters, case studies, blogs and digital channels.
  • Creating opportunities for early years practitioners to connect, collaborate and learn from one another through professional networks and communities of practice.
  • Sharing trusted research, guidance and resources to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
  •  Showcasing effective practice and new ideas through events and webinars.
  • Offering advice, guidance and signposting to relevant programmes, resources and sources of support.
