Overview:
The Pen Green Early Years Stronger Practice Hub supports early years settings and childminders across North Northamptonshire, West Northamptonshire, Rutland, Milton Keynes and North Buckinghamshire.
Led by Pen Green Centre for Children and their Families, the Hub brings together research, evidence-informed practice and sector expertise to help early years professionals strengthen practice and improve outcomes for children.
Our support is designed to be practical, accessible and responsive to the needs of the sector. We provide professional development, specialist support, networks, resources and opportunities for early years professionals to learn together and develop their practice.
We achieve this by:
- Championing evidence-informed practice, helping early years professionals access high-quality professional development, expert advice and resources informed by the latest research and evidence.
- Strengthening pedagogy and practice, supporting practitioners to make informed decisions that nurture children’s curiosity, wellbeing, development and learning.
- Promoting equity and inclusion, supporting settings to identify and address barriers to learning and improve outcomes for all children, particularly those experiencing disadvantage.
- Building collaborative networks, bringing together childminders, nurseries, schools and other early years professionals to share knowledge, reflect on practice and learn from one another.
- Providing specialist support, including opportunities focused on speech and language, SEND and SLCN, leadership, babies and under-twos, childminding and inspection.
- Supporting continuous professional development, enabling practitioners and leaders to reflect on evidence, build confidence and develop sustainable improvements in practice.
Together with our delivery partners Acorn Early Years Foundation, Holbourn House Day Nursery & Pre-school and Katie Britton, we work to ensure early years professionals across our Hub area can access the evidence, professional development, specialist support and networks they need to provide high-quality, inclusive early education.
