Local Authorities covered:

Wakefield, Doncaster & Hull

Overview:

At Accomplish Early Years Stronger Practice Hub, we are passionate about giving every child the strongest possible start in life. We believe that when early years professionals connect, collaborate and learn from one another, we can strengthen practice and make a lasting difference to the experiences and outcomes of our youngest children.

Working across Wakefield, Doncaster and Hull, we bring together expertise, evidence and excellent practice from across the early years sector. Through our established relationships with private, voluntary and independent (PVI) settings, childminders and school-based early years provision, we are committed to providing high-quality, relevant and accessible professional learning that reflects the opportunities and challenges faced by practitioners in every part of the sector.

Our Early Years Stronger Practice Hub leadership team brings a wealth of experience from maintained schools, PVI settings, childminding and workforce development. Working alongside our strategic partners, we ensure that our support is shaped by the needs of the sector and is responsive to the unique circumstances in which different early years professionals work.

At the heart of our approach is a belief in learning together and learning from excellent practice. Our lead setting provides opportunities to see high-quality early years practice in action, while our Accomplishing Great Things Together training centre enables us to bring practitioners together for face-to-face professional development. We are also proud to work with a diverse network of partner settings demonstrating excellent practice across childminding, private nursery and maintained school provision.

Through a flexible blend of face-to-face training, setting-based learning, networking and virtual professional development, we aim to create meaningful opportunities for practitioners to share expertise, reflect on practice and build knowledge and confidence.

Accomplish Early Years Stronger Practice Hub is one of 36 Stronger Practice Hubs appointed by the Department for Education (DfE) across England. Our purpose is to support early years settings across our region to strengthen practice and improve outcomes for children throughout the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Our work responds to identified local priorities, with particular emphasis on key areas of learning and development, including personal, social and emotional development (PSED), communication and language, early literacy and early mathematics.

Above all, we want Accomplish Early Years Stronger Practice Hub to be a place where the early years community can connect, learn, share and grow together, celebrating the expertise already within our sector while creating opportunities to make practice even stronger.

Together, we can strengthen practice, empower practitioners and give every child the opportunity to thrive.

We will do this by:

  • Establishing local networks of settings to share knowledge and effective practice.
  • Providing bespoke support to settings through our EYSPA & ELL programmes
  • Proactively sharing information and advice on evidence-based approaches, for example, through newsletters, blogs, events and social media.
  • Acting as a point of contact for bespoke advice, and signposting to other funded support.
  • Working with the Education Endowment Foundation to share evidence-based programmes to fund and make available to settings
