Inspiring Hearts and Minds: The Froebel Approach

What do we really see when we stop and watch a child at play?

This webinar invites you to slow down and look again at the everyday moments that shape learning: a baby listening to a lullaby, a toddler moving their fingers in a rhyme, a group of children negotiating a game together. In the Froebel Approach, these moments are not incidental. They are the heart of how young children make sense of themselves, other people, and the world.

We’ll explore how Froebel’s understanding of play, observation, and relationship still offers a clear and practical framework for today’s early years practice. You’ll see how close observation helps us move beyond ‘what the child is doing’ to ‘what the child is thinking and working out’. And how that understanding allows us to respond with intention, not just to manage behaviour, but to extend learning and deepen belonging.

Together we’ll consider the role of songs, finger plays, movement games and storytelling. Not as add-ons, but as purposeful experiences that weave together language, early literacy, mathematical understanding, physical development and social awareness.

You’ll leave with examples of how hand movements support tracking and gaze, how action songs build pattern and sequence, and how group play fosters empathy and fairness.

This is a reflective and practical webinar for practitioners and leaders who want to strengthen their practice from the inside out. You’ll take away ways of seeing children more clearly, tools for articulating their learning, and renewed confidence in the value of what you do every day.

Come prepared to think, to notice, and to reconnect with why you came into this work in the first place.
