Supporting EAL In The Early Years For Practitioners In Early Years Settings And Childminders

The team at Early Years Alliance have developed a multilingual toolkit for practitioners in early years to support young children in their learning to be become confident communicators and talkers. They invite us to think about how working with families can make the biggest difference and offer practical advice for everyday practice.

Multi-lingual children and families are an important part of the fabric in our early years settings. How do we best support and grow their language skills to ensure they reach a good level of English as well as maintaining their home language?

By attending this interactive virtual session you will:

  • Identify and discuss how English as an additional language (EAL) is acquired in early years
  • Develop good practice to inclusively support all children in the setting applying effective EAL principles
