"Moving to Write - why big movements matter in little learners"
Discover the vital link between physical development and early writing in our latest blog by Early Years Consultant Suzanne Taylor. Drawing on her extensive experience and recent research, Suzanne explores how gross motor skills—like climbing, balancing, and crawling—lay the essential foundation for fine motor control and writing readiness.
This blog kicks off our Moving to Write programme, a series of events and resources designed to support early years professionals in nurturing confident young writers through movement-rich learning.
Suzanne Taylor has had a long career within Early Years and is a former Adviser, National Leader and Headteacher of a large nursery school and children’s centre. Suzanne has a passion for outdoor learning, including taking practitioners to see Norwegian Kindergartens for many years, and has extensive knowledge about children’s physical development and quality interactions.
