This training explores how physical development and risky play are vital components of early childhood education. Discover how to support confident movement and purposeful, challenging play and leave with practical ideas and strategies to support active learning and purposeful movement in safe, enriching environments.
Drawing on the Health and Safety Executive’s statement “Children’s Play and Leisure: Promoting a Balanced Approach” ‘Play is great for children’s well-being and development. When planning and providing play opportunities, the goal is not to eliminate risk, but to weigh up the risks and benefits. No child will learn about risk if they are wrapped in cotton wool’.

This half day training (9.30am - 12.30pm) will take place at The Lawns Nursery School in Windsor. Your host will be Fiona Greenwood, Deputy Headteacher of Cookham Nursery School, which is one of the Federation of Nursery Schools in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.
