Developing Learning Behaviours

Are you an early years leader looking to strengthen your curriculum and boost children’s school readiness?  We are excited to be able to offer this programme led by Jan Dubiel. Over the 6 months of the project, you will: 

  • Evaluate evidence-based strategies for self-regulation, emotional literacy, creativity & more
  • Learn to identify, assess and nurture learning behaviours across EYFS
  • Collaborate with other leaders and share practical solutions
  • Leave with tools that transform outcomes for children

The launch conference is on 14 October and there are 3 in-person training days and 4 network sessions over the 6 months of the project.

We can accommodate 2 participants per school or setting, but one must have a qualification that is L3 or above.  This project is limited to settings within our Hub's area (Bracknell Forest, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Milton Keynes, Oxfordshire, Portsmouth, Reading, Slough, Southampton, West Berkshire, Windsor and Maidenhead, Wokingham).

Jan Dubiel has developed a national and international reputation as a conference speaker, consultant and trainer and he has written widely on different aspects of early years policy and practice, especially in terms of pedagogy, curriculum and assessment. His approach to assessment is outlined in his book “Effective Assessment in the EYFS” (2014) and has recently collaborated with Julien Grenier in providing further insight into understanding assessment and curriculum in the 2023 publication “Putting the EYFS Curriculum into Practice”.
