The Early Years Stronger Practice Adviser (EYSPA) programme offers tailored, evidence-informed support for early years settings and childminders looking to strengthen practice, develop leadership and improve outcomes for children and families.
Our advisers are experienced early years practitioners and leaders who understand the realities of working in early years settings. Working alongside you, they provide practical coaching, guidance and support that is responsive to your unique context, helping you build on strengths, overcome challenges and achieve sustainable improvements.
We recognise that every setting is different, with its own strengths, priorities and challenges.
What support could look like for you
You will be matched with an Early Years Stronger Practice Adviser who will work collaboratively with you to:
- understand you and your setting's goals and priorities
- identify strengths and areas for development
- provide practical coaching, mentoring and guidance
- support curriculum development and implementation
- help address challenges in a timely and effective way
- strengthen leadership and professional practice
- support sustainable improvements across your provision
- improve outcomes for children and families
What can you expect?
- Group-based settings will receive a minimum of three days of in-person support over one term.
- Childminders will receive support as part of a small cluster, with up to four days of support over one term, delivered either online or in person.
Who can access support?
The programme is available to settings and childminders who may:
- require support with any aspect of their curriculum
- support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- have high levels of SEND need within their provision
- support significant numbers of children eligible for Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP)
- provide places through the Early Learning for 2-Year-Olds funding offer
- have received an Ofsted judgement of Needs Attention or Urgent Improvement
