Occupational Therapist Nicci Paine will be running practical and interactive training sessions that will enable you to identify sensory processing differences and she'll provide activities to support development and suggestions to adapt your environment. Nicci has many years experience working with children and adults and currently runs a children's therapy clinic.
Nicci will give examples of how an underlying sensory processing disorder can be linked to motor coordination and emotional regulation. She will explain some dos and don'ts and has a great store of simple adaptations and activities that will make all the difference to children in your setting who have sensory processing difficulties.
There will be 2 sessions during the afternoon:
- 1-3pm tailored to staff working in schools and settings
- 3.30-5.30pm specifically for childminders
