Every child deserves to develop a strong foundation in maths. The Department for Education’s Best Start in Life programme supports this by ensuring Early Years practitioners have the skills, confidence and knowledge to develop children’s early mathematical understanding, guided by the expertise of Early Maths Leads.
The Maths CPD programme consists of 16.5 hours of learning in total.
- 6 online, self-led learning modules, each lasting 90 minutes.
- Following every two self-study modules, participants will attend a seminar/webinar led by a trained Maths Early Years Lead (EYLL). These sessions will provide opportunities to reflect on learning, discuss key ideas and consider how the learning can be applied in practice.
- A final action-planning seminar will enable participants to identify how they will apply their learning within their own setting and develop clear next steps.
