This case study reflects on an initiative led by the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Stronger Practice Hub, which developed and delivered outdoor learning sessions for childminders and the children in their care. With sessions carefully aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, these networks also encouraged the use of local parks and woodlands as rich learning environments. It fostered professional reflection, enhanced practitioner skills, and promoted collaborative practice—all contributing to improved outcomes for both children and practitioners.
