Overview:
St Edmund’s team has recognised for many years that collaboration and partnerships has the potential to improve working practices and outcomes for children. We have strong links with the Early Years sector across West Yorkshire and the wider region. We look forward to using these links to support the delivery of high quality professional learning offers to the PVI, Childminder and school based nurseries.
Our EYSPH leadership team has a wealth of experience in the maintained school sector, PVI sector, childminding and also in workforce development. Our strategic partners will guide our delivery plans, ensuring that content is mindful of each sectors unique working circumstances.
As well as using our own nursery to showcase good practice, we have the facilities to offer face to face sessions here. This will be utilised as part of a mix of face to face and virtual meetings and training.
St Edmund’s Early Years Stronger Practice Hub is one of 18 Stronger Practice Hubs appointed by the Department for Education (DfE) across England. Our main aim is to support other early years settings regionally to improve outcomes for children in their local area across the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), but specifically focusing on areas of development identified as local priorities, including but not exclusive to: personal social and emotional development (PSED); communication and language, and early literacy and maths.
We will do this by:
- Establishing local networks of settings to share knowledge and effective practice.
- Proactively sharing information and advice on evidence-based approaches, for example, through newsletters, blogs, events and social media.
- Acting as a point of contact for bespoke advice, and signposting to other funded support.
- Working with the Education Endowment Foundation to select evidence-based programmes to fund and make available to settings
