Getting it Right for Twos: An Interactive Three-Session Programme

THIS PROGRAMME IS NOW FULLY BOOKED.

Getting it Right for Twos: An Interactive Three-Session Programme.

This dynamic, three-part professional development programme is designed to deepen your understanding of evidence-based approaches and practice when working with two-year-olds. The three sessions will support educators to look at provision through the eyes of the two-year-old, reflecting upon the unique child, positive relationships, enabling environments and learning and development. The sessions will provide opportunities to reflect upon aspects of the day with children’s rights in mind, including the daily routines, mindful care and supporting play.

This training programme is for educators who are new to working with two-year-olds, those who haven’t done training specifically about being with two-year-olds or those wanting a refresher on getting in right for two-year-olds.

What to expect

Session One: Understanding two-year-olds – brain development, disadvantage, children’s voice, independence, agency, children’s rights, co-regulation, and sense of belonging.

Session Two: Supporting emotional wellbeing – pedagogy of care, sleep, mealtimes, routines, slow pedagogy, working with families, home learning, and inter-agency collaboration.

Session Three: Enhancing play and learning –  the adult’s role, assessment, characteristics of effective learning, and balancing risk and challenge.

This programme is perfect for educators seeking to enhance their practice, reflect on their settings, and connect with a network of peers dedicated to high-quality interactions and the holistic development of two-year-olds.

Please note that this is a 3 part programme that will be delivered ONLINE and you will be required to attend all 3 sessions. The dates and times for the sessions are:
